![]() Families were staying at that time with toddlers walking around. But on my last trip the teenage son of the owner was racing around the main accomodation area on a motorised scooter and did not heed my requests to stop. I was still coming here though as I felt I could turn a blind eye to all of this, as there was still value in staying. Half completed projects are left with grass growing around the resultant building debris. The caboose cabins are rusting badly and some may be beyond repair. There are no plugs for the sinks, so to wash up the plug holes need to be sealed with garden leaves. The main cooking area has a real lack of cutlery, pots and pans and drying cloths. The Tepee village has been all but abandoned, with just one last tepee standing, and looking neglected. Projects are abandoned and the greenhouse now in disuse. But over the last few years I have seen lack of upkeep. It has always been a retreat from the humdrum of city life and a place of peace and quiet. It is a very special place to stay and I have come here over the last 12 years first with my family when the children were younger, and more recently on my own. Also please put the cafe open times in the room info folder!Īnd lastly, this site is not accessible to the less able bodied, even the fabulous cafe was not wheelchair friendly, which was a real shame because this kind of alternate lifestyle should be accessible to all varieties of humans and I'm sure the owners would want all to experience it.ĭont let my caveats put you off staying though, we really did have a good time and it's a unique and fun experience! They weren't life threatening, but were inconvenient and springing for an emergency plumber would have been great service. we had some plumbing issues which were not promptly corrected. although staff were lovely, they weren't always so helpful. However I do have some caveats unfortunately, our trip was a little unexpected in the wrong ways too. ![]() The teenagers loved the caboose bunkhouse and we loved being a little isolated from the rest of the site in the ivy cottage overlooking the ocean (it has the best view of all the accommodation). Fortunately all accommodation comes with linen supplied which is fabulous! Just be prepared to carry all your things for a while if you stay in the teepee forest! It's a short walk down and up a hill with no luggage (we had fun exploring) but would feel a lot longer lugging one's food and clothing. We were delighted by the whimsy of the concept and the varieties of accommodations and the complimentary herbal tea selection was a lovely touch. We visited solscape for a group family long weekend and had a fun time! The location and views (particularly from the cafe) are breathtaking! The staff is friendly and our youngest was enchanted by the camp cat (who can open doors □). Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya All-Inclusive Resort.Hotels near Surf Safe Surf Coaching Raglan.
